Skimz Biopellet Reactor BR80 and BR100

Biopellet media has recently become popular method of removing nitrates from the aquarium. Biopellets are made primarily of a biodegradable polymer which provides a food source to beneficial bacteria that eliminate unwanted nitrate within the reactor.

Skimz Biopellet Reactor is designed with a fluidized cone at the bottom which helps to keep the biopellet media in constant motion and prevent clumping.

Skimz Biopellet Reactor available in three sizes: BR80, BR100 and BR150.

Skimz BR80 is a hang-on model which has a reactor chamber diameter of 80mm and is ideal for aquariums up to 400 litres.

Skimz BR100 is the bigger brother of the BR80. It has a reactor chamber diameter of 100mm and is ideal for aquariums up to 1,000 litres. BR100 can also be used with phosphate media or activated carbon by inserting sponges (included) at the top and bottom inside the cylinder body.

Skimz Zenvotec DC Pump

Skimz just added another DC pump to the line up with the new Skimz Zenvotec DC Pump. The new Skimz Zenvotec is a variable speed controllable DC pump delivering a high flow rate while keeping the power consumption on the low side.

This design seems to be based off the Abyzz Venotec pump and features brushless DC (BLDC) synchronous motors allowing you to adjust the speed while keeping it all extremely quiet.

The new Skimz Zenvotec range has six different models ranging from the Skimz ZD55 that pushes 5,500 LPH (around 1,450 GPH) to the Skimz ZD1500 cranking out 15,000 LPH (just under 4,000 GPH).

We have very basic information on the pump at this point and will pass on pricing and availability when available.

We just recently added the Skimz line of protein skimmers and reactors into the BRS Skimmer line up, so we stopped by their booth at Interzoo to get the scoop right from them.

The oval shaped body of the Skimz Oval skimmers is a shape you are not used to seeing in protein skimmers. This shape allows for a simple rectangular footprint, making them very easy to fit in the sump. The DC pump allows you to adjust the water flow to tune it to your tanks needs.

All of the in-sump Skimz protein skimmers include a gate valve that makes it super easy to fine tune the water level in the skimmer. Because the valve and exit are built into the body of the skimmer, they do not have external pipes making for a nice clean design.

The Skimz Kone pumps utilize Eden pumps. They are available in a variety of different sizes from small to large. They are also available in both in sump models as well as external recirculating models.
